18th Century Stage Coach Stop

This old inn was reported to have been a stage coach stop at the time of the American Revolution. It was located where Country Club Drive now connects with Shore Road. At the dawn of the 20th century it was called Dan Grey's Hotel and was often a meeting place for city business. According to stories from folks who remember it, Indian arrowheads and musket balls were found in the walls and children often dared one another to stay there after dark to confront the ghosts who were rumored to haunt the place. It was torn down in the late 1930's to make room for the pastures of the Brighton Farms.
