George L. Collins

George Collins was the beloved principal of Belhaven School from the 1920's until his retirement in 1946. There have been many stories told about him that illustrate his warmth and kindness. As a principal, he was always firm but fair. Once, after a playground fight, he pinned the two boys together by their shirt collars with a huge horse blanket safety pin. What a lesson they must have learned about getting along with one another!
